Building a new driveway or fixing the one you have

If your Bella Vista home sits at the end of a long private drive, water running down it can do more damage than the cars on it. Where the driveway climbs to the house, we grade it so water runs off the side instead of down its whole length. Water left under the asphalt freezes and thaws all winter, and that's how potholes start.

Tar and chip (chip seal)

Liquid asphalt sprayed down and covered with stone, then rolled in: a lower-cost surface for long rural driveways.

Asphalt repair

Potholes and failed spots cut out square, rebuilt from the base up, and rolled level.

On a long private drive, the edges can crumble first, because nothing beside them holds the asphalt in place.

Asphalt paving

New asphalt from the ground up: the site graded, a compacted stone base, then hot mix rolled to the thickness written on your estimate.

Other asphalt work we do for homes and businesses

  • A drone view straight down on a large, nearly empty commercial parking lot with white stall lines, light poles, and planted islands

    Parking lot paving

New lots, rebuilds, and mill-and-overlay work, laid out so the water reaches the drains.

  • A freshly sealcoated black driveway curving up to a white two-story house, green lawn on both sides

    Sealcoating

A protective coat over asphalt that's still sound, put down after the cracks are filled.

  • A worker's boots beside a flaming hand pour pot laying hot black sealant along the seam where asphalt meets a concrete gutter

    Crack sealing and filling

Cracks cleaned out and sealed so rain can't reach the base underneath.

  • A milling machine seen from above at night, its long conveyor stretched out and a crew working in the pool of work lights

    Asphalt resurfacing and overlays

A new layer of hot mix over asphalt that's worn on top but still solid underneath.

  • Hatched striping on a parking lot meeting a painted curb beside a concrete sidewalk

    Parking lot line striping

Stalls, accessible spaces, arrows, and fire lanes laid out and painted, or restriped after sealing.

  • Two workers in a parking lot, one pouring sealant from a pour pot while the other brushes it into a seam in the asphalt

    Asphalt maintenance

Patching, crack sealing, sealcoating, and restriping, in that order, on a regular cycle.

How to choose between hot mix asphalt and tar and chip

Both need a firm base under them, and neither one fixes a driveway that's soft underneath.

  • Hot mix gives you a smooth, dark surface that's easy to walk on, sweep, and roll a trash bin across.
  • Tar and chip leaves stone on top, which gives tires more grip on a steep driveway and looks more like gravel than hot mix does.
  • Some loose stone can come off tar and chip at first and end up in the grass along the edges.

What customers say about the work

  • ★★★★★
I wasn't sure a Little Rock company would drive up to Northwest Arkansas for our small lot, but Alec's crew did and treated it like a local job. On time, tidy, and a good price.

We needed the private road into our subdivision repaved. Alec came out to look at it, gave us an honest price, and the crew finished in two days with minimal disruption to the neighbors. The road is smooth and drains properly now.

I look after the property for our church. The lot had cracks everywhere and the lines were faded. They resurfaced the whole thing and restriped the spaces and handicap spots over about a week, working around our Wednesday night and Sunday services so nobody lost parking. I always knew what was happening next. Great value for a church budget.
