When does Blytheville require a driveway to be paved?
Blytheville's Ordinance No. 1646 prohibits parking any motor vehicle on an unpaved surface in a residential zone. Its one narrow exception is a single 9'x19' grass parking space beside the driveway.
A driveway that was unpaved when the ordinance passed doesn't have to be paved. Section 3 says it “would be required to be paved” if the use and maintenance of the driveway and parking area lapse for one year. It has to be paved as well “if the use served by such driveway is expanded.”
